Sir Walter Scott Country. The North British Railway proudly proclaimed its line between Edinburgh and Carlisle as the Waverley Route. The direct and picturesque route between England and Scotland as seen in this 1907 poster. It was also proud of its trains which included Dining Cars, Sleeping Cars and even Lavatory Carriages.
