"Gorilla One The Loose!" Slovakian Railways 350 Class passenger electric, numbered 006-3 is seen at the outskirts of Štrba heading towards western Slovakia with the daily Ex606 "Tatran" Intercity Train from Košice to Bratislava on the back. The 350 Class Electrics as of 1.1.2025 will be completely retired from the Slovakian Railways fleet with new and modern Siemens Vectrons ready to take on the torch from their older Škoda built bretherin. The class was built by Škoda at the end of the 1970's in a batch of only 20 units and we're nicknamed "Gorillas" due to this locomotive being featured in 1989 on a postage stamp of Guinea-Bissau. The locomotives were built to pull high speed passenger trains running between Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Košice. Capable of running under 3000V DC and 25Kv AC power, for the time these were the most technologically advanced electric locomotives at that time. Now their career has come to an end. Only the memories, videos and photos exist to remind the newer generation of another bygone time. ♥οΈπ¦ "Gorilla"'s 350 001 & 350 002 have both been preserved with 001 ending up in the Bratislava Railway Museum and 002 soon to end up at a railway club in Zvolen πΈπ° Štrba - Slovakia πΈπ° - December 2024 #trainspotting #lineside #photo #train #electric #crossing #slovakia
