Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 No. 46128 The Lovat Scouts. Heading South out of Warrington Bank Quay Station in 1965 is 46128 rebuilt Royal Scot The Lovat Scouts. It was built at the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow in 1927 and withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor on 1st January 1965 before being cut up at Motherwell Machinery and Scrap of Inslow Works in Wishaw 2 months later. The Lovat Scouts was an army unit that was first formed during the Second Boer War as a Scottish Highland Yeomanry Regiment. They were the first known military unit to wear a ghillie suit an all weather uniform designed to fit in with its background including trees, sand and snow. It is commonly seen even now with a full body covering of mesh containing twigs and foliage as camouflage. During the First World War. The regiment became the first British Army's sniper unit where they were known as sharpshooters. Now they form part of the second battalion of the Highland Volunteers.
