The double headed 9 coach RCTS The North Yorkshireman Rail Tour crosses the viaduct over the River Lune on the approach to Middleton in Teesdale on 25th April 1964. The train engines are an ex LNER Class V3 2-6-2T No.67646 and an ex LMS Class 4P 2-6-4T No.42639. The line from Barnard Castle closed and both locos were withdrawn later that year.
