Luke Rothwell
Not been here in a while so I might as well introduce the project im working on. It is called the stone lake railway and is set on the great hardwood loop line but with some alterations. This line in real life was apart of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway and I think it only had two stops, in Blackburn and Great Harwood (correct me if I'm wrong). It also passed through the small town of Rishton. Yet sadly nothing of the original line remains exept for some of the original bridges, yet it has been turned into a nature walk. So there's a brief snippet of the original lines information now onto the layout. The layout is based on the Rishton sector of the track with there being altercations such as the adding of 2 station platforms, a goods yard and a single row engine shed. This layout is set in any era, from era 2 all the way up to preservation and it still using the same structures. Yet how might this work for era's 3-5, well here's where the fictional history comes in as before the big 4 merger in 1925 the great Harwood loop line had been bought from the lancs and turned into its own independent railway yet due to talks of the merger arising the men had little time to write to parliament to ask about possible independence from the networks merger into the four companies. Yet there was no hope so they decided to declare it as an estate railway yet open to public and goods transportation, and it worked. They renamed the line the stone lake railway after the lake/pond found on the outskirts of Rishton. With traffic of their 3 engines starting on the same year. So there we have it, sorry for it being so long winded but it's a story after all with some information about my universe put in. Hope you enjoyed reading it. #modelrailway #00gauge #train #steam
