Looking into Elizabeth Dock in Maryport on a damp December day as 2024 approaches its conclusion. In the 1850s sidings were installed on both sides of the dock but after the opening of Workington Port in 1927 traffic dwindled. In 2024 only a small number of fishing vessels still operate out of the dock.
