Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is The Caledonian Railway Caley Single 4-2-2 No. 123. Again at Dawsholm MPD in early 1964 when these ancient locomotives were put on display for the press. No 123 was built by Neilson and Company in 1886 as an exhibition locomotive. It became part of the Caledonian Railway in 1914 and the LMS in 1923 when it was given the number 123. It worked the Directors Saloon until 1930 when it went back into general service and was withdrawn in 1935 to be taken into preservation. British Rail restored it in 1958 and it was used on classic trains until Scottish Steam was withdrawn. Like the Jones Goods. It can be found on display at the Glasgow Museum of Transport.
