A Class 73. No. 73104 Electro Diesel 1420 hp/600 hp. 40 years before SNCF introduced their dual mode multiple units. British Railways Southern Region introduced a 650/750 Volt DC third rail electric locomotive equipped with a 600 hp Diesel for use on non electrified lines. 43 were built at English Electrics Vulcan Foundry from 1967 to 1968 and 27 remain active with various rail operators. No. 73104 entered service in July 1967 and is seen outside London Waterloo sporting the large Logo livery in November 1986. It is still operational.
