In the brief period when The Thames Clyde Express was hauled by an ex LNER A3 4-6-2s No. 60070 Gladiateur enters Carlisle Station with the southbound train from Glasgow St Enoch on 27th May 1961. The loco would have continued to haul the train over the Settle to Carlisle before an engine change at Leeds for the journey south to London St Pancras.
