2 UP locomotives sit silently in Grandby, Colorado. Grandby was settled along the route of the Denver, Northwestern and Pacific Railroad, who built the line to connect Denver, CO with Salt Lake City, UT. Eventually the DNP would become the Denver and Salt Lake Railroad, then would be bought by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad in 1931. Today, it is part of the Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision of their Central Corridor. The Amtrak California Zephyr passed by not long after taking this photo. Just behind the trains is the currently under construction Moffat Road Railroad Museum. #trainspotting #diesel
