Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a Coronation Pacific Class 4-6-2 No. 46228 Duchess of Rutland. One of the most beautiful classes of engine. No. 46228 is turned on the Shrewsbury Motive Power Depot turntable in 1962. It was cut up on 31st December 1964 having been designed by William Stanier and built at Crewe Works on 30th June 1938 as one of the original streamlined engines. It was destreamlined in 1947. Its last shed was Crewe North from where it was withdrawn on 30th September 1964 and cut up at Cashmores of Great Bridge 3 months later.
