St Boswells was once the junction for 2 former NBR meandering cross country lines. One to Duns and Reston and the other to Jedburgh, Kelso and then via the NER route to Tweedmouth. Here's a southbound diverted East Coast Main Line express leaves the station behind Haymarkets ex LNER Class A4 4-6-2 No. 60009 Union of South Africa in 1954. The train would have travelled via Kelso, Coldstream and Tweedmouth where it would have rejoined the East Coast Main Line.
