Here's a story about this Steam Locomotive. This Steam Loco is a WC Class 4-6-2 No. 34025 Whimple. Still at Bournemouth. But this time in the MPD in August 1966 and we see a Bulleid West Country/Battle of Britain Class engine 34025 Whimple. Not in steam and either withdrawn or soon to be so. It was built at Brighton Works going into service in March 1946 as Rough Tor. The following month. Rough Tor was replaced with Whimple named after a small village in East Devon. Originally built with air smoothed casing and rebuilt in November 1957. It was withdrawn from this MPD in July 1967 and scrapped at Cashmores of Newport in March 1968.
