At Swindon Works.
Obviously taken on a Sunday when the workforce was at home. This grandstand view of the erecting shop at Swindon Works was taken in May 1963. Steam Loco Production at Swindon ceased in 1960. Although repairs continued for a few more years. The building of the Diesel Hydraulics continued until 1965. But the works finally succumbed to rationalisation and finally closed after 145 years service in 1986.
