IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TRAINSPOTTERS/RAILFANS TRAVELLING TO POLAND π΅π± THE VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY BAN HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE 23RD OF THIS MONTH (September 23rd 2023) B U T There needs to be some things that need to be said. A Polish Railway YouTuber by the name 850kN uploaded a video with the title "The End of Polish Railway YouTube" and it's the most dramatized shit I've seen in my entire life. At this point there needs to be an explanation about this who ordeal. This comment is courtesy of @motorak on YT. He fully explained the new ban in short and for Railfans that plan on coming to Poland within the next months/ years need to take note. @motorak "With all due respect to you, this video does more harm than good. You tell people that there will be a ban (which in fact there won't depending on how you look at it), so you are doing exactly what the Railroad Police, the Police, and the Internal Security Agency are doing now to these innocent enthusiasts. Even in one fragment you read there were these specific key words - if the object was marked with a sign" "A few points below specify that the signs must be clearly visible from every place. What does this mean? The act does not introduce a ban on photographing railways. but only allows appropriate managers to introduce such a ban only within their facilities. Let's think realistically, no one will place posts with signs every 50 meters on all rail lines. This would be nonsense. If the legislator wanted to introduce this, he would formulate this act differently and there would be no need for these signs In practice, the manager will not even be obliged to introduce this ban". "They can simply take advantage of this opportunity and mark specific facilities in this way. In the most radical scenario, these will be station buildings, signal boxes, locomotive sheds, other railway buildings. And that's it. In the most likely scenario, these will only be sensitive objects. In 99% of places, nothing will change. Even by nature, such a ban cannot be introduced on the lines. It's a pity that you tell people that this ban will be everywhere. Awareness should be spread that there will still be no total ban. Without knowing this, no photographer will be able to defend himself or herself by continuing to take photos legally". THERE WILL BE NO BAN YOU CAN SAFELY SPOT TRACKSIDE BUT DO IT FAR AWAY FROM ANY STATIONS AND YARDS OFCOURSE DO IT SAFELY ASWELL. DON'T TRESPASS AND RESPECT THE RAILROAD WORKERS TRAIN DRIVERS AND RESPECT RAILROAD PROPERTY HOWEVER LET ME REPEAT With penalties being: confiscation of your photo/ videography equipment with a fine up to 5000zΕ (1155$, 1080€) and arrest if you get caught more than once. YOU WILL END UP IN JAIL #trainspotting #lineside #photo #train #video #station #junction #signalbox #poland
