A beautifully restored Slaggyford Station is the northern terminus of the Narrow Gauge South Tynedale Railway and the station is also convenient for users of the South Tyne Trail. At the time of writing. The Railway Extension from Lintley to Slaggyford installed on the former standard gauge line was not yet open. But it's completion is likely in 2018. When open the station will have a Cafe, Toliets, Engineering Workshops and a Discovery Centre.
