Fakebonnet at Alliance. What it gonna do? π³ The C44-9W Class Diesel on the right is carrying BNSF's first official paint scheme which was applied to the loco right after the merger happened. Initially these loco's were ordered by the Santa Fe, but at the time of production the merger happened and the loco's came out of the factory like seen in the second photo. The C44-9W Diesel's and the EMD SD70M Class Diesel's also ordered by the ATSF at that time before the merger were the only loco's to wear this scheme. Trainspotters and railway workers here in the US dub these loco's "Fakebonnets" after the famous Santa Fe "Redbonnet" paint scheme.
